About the Role

As a Repair Shop Assistant, you will report directly to the Service Manager and play a key role in supporting the repair and maintenance of vehicles. This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in a workshop setting who thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with vehicle repairs under their guidance.
• Remove and replace vehicle parts and units as required.
• Safely jack up vehicles and position trestles for repairs.
• Lubricate and change oils under supervision, adhering to manual specifications.
• Remove and replace wheels, air filters, and oil filters.
• Support all aspects of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Diagnose brake wear and replace old brakes with new ones.
• Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on both new and used vehicles before retail.
• Remove and fit vehicle batteries.
• Maintain cleanliness of parts and ensure proper housekeeping in the workshop.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification is required.
• A clear criminal record is essential.
• Previous experience in a workshop environment will be highly advantageous.
