The City of Tshwane is offering an exciting opportunity for 15 individuals to join its Welding Apprenticeship Programme. This full-time apprenticeship is designed to provide aspiring artisans with the technical skills and hands-on experience required to excel in the welding industry. Selected candidates will participate in a structured learning programme that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. Key Responsibilities
- Participation in the City of Tshwane’s full-time apprenticeship programme for welding.
- Attendance at theoretical and practical training sessions to develop technical skills in welding techniques and metal fabrication.
- Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Performing tasks such as arc welding, gas welding, TIG welding, and MIG welding.
- Cutting, shaping, and joining metal components using various welding methods.
- Adherence to safety protocols and maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaboration with mentors and peers to enhance learning and skill development.
- Completion of all required assessments and tasks as part of the apprenticeship programme.
Application Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Technical Matric, NCV Level 4, or N2 Certificate with Mathematics, Science, and relevant trade theory.
- A genuine interest in becoming an artisan in the welding industry.
- Strong dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working with tools.
