Job Description
The City of Tshwane is offering an exciting opportunity for 15 individuals to join its Fitting and Turning Apprenticeship Programme. Key Responsibilities
- Participation in the City of Tshwane’s full-time apprenticeship programme for fitting and turning.
- Attendance at theoretical and practical training sessions to develop technical skills in machining, assembly, and maintenance.
- Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Operating and maintaining lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other precision tools.
- Performing tasks such as cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components.
- Adherence to safety protocols and maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaboration with mentors and peers to enhance learning and skill development.
- Completion of all required assessments and tasks as part of the apprenticeship programme.
Application Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Technical Matric, NCV Level 4, or N2 Certificate with Mathematics, Science, and relevant trade theory.
- A genuine interest in becoming an artisan in the field of fitting and turning.
- Strong dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and working with tools.
