Minimum Requirements
- Abet or Grade 10
- Proven ability to perform routine repairs and upkeep independently.
- Key control experience and ability to secure, allocate, and track keys.
- Capacity to coordinate with on-site security personnel.
- 24/7 on-site availability and readiness to respond to incidents.
- Risk awareness: able to identify, assess, and act on on-site risks/threats.
- Familiarity with routine facility inspections for safety and functionality.
- Willingness to work extra hours, weekends, and for special college events when required.
- Strong verbal and written communication; professional interaction with staff and students.
- Solid troubleshooting skills with timely, practical solutions.
- Advantageous: gardening, landscaping, and/or cleaning experience.
- Composure under pressure and in urgent situations.
- Valid Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
Core Functions
Conduct regular inspections of buildings, fences, doors, windows and other structures; promptly flag maintenance needs.
Perform general maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, basic AC tasks).
Open offices, classrooms, workshops, and labs at set times; secure all areas after use (windows, doors, AC units, gas heaters, and gates).
Manage campus key safekeeping, distribution, and allocation.
Execute minor fixes: broken windows/doors, leaks, ceilings, ablution facilities, etc.
Assist with cleaning when required; perform gardening, landscaping, and sweeping to maintain campus appearance.
Review and analyse the Security Occurrence Book daily; escalate risks to management without delay.
Complete daily/weekly/monthly status reports on campus conditions; provide feedback on maintenance and security matters.
Carry out additional duties as delegated; maintain flexibility to cover a broad task range within set timelines.
Participate in ongoing training and development; attend and facilitate meetings as needed.
