Program Overview:
The Mogalakwena Complex is offering an enriching Mining Program for community members. This four-month program is tailored to empower individuals by providing them with hands-on training and skill development. Participants will engage in core on-the-job training within the mining environment, aimed at maximizing their potential and equipping them with the necessary skills to make a meaningful impact in their future careers.
Qualifications:
Candidates interested in the Mining Cadet Program must meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements: Must possess a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English. Note that Mathematics Literacy will not be considered.
Pass Marks: Applicants must have achieved a minimum pass mark of 40% in the relevant subjects.
Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit and prepared to work in a surface mining environment.
Work Schedule Flexibility: Candidates should be willing to work according to the work schedule of the designated area, which may include shifts.
Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens and must reside within the host communities of the Mogalakwena Complex.
Psychometric Assessment: Candidates must successfully pass a relevant psychometric assessment.
Driving Assessment: Successful completion of a K53 Simulator Assessment is required.
Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
Driver’s License: Although not mandatory, possession of a valid South African driver’s license will be an added advantage.

Cadetship Conditions:
Work Environment: Cadets should be prepared to work in an opencast mining area, which can be dusty and demanding.
Work Schedule: The program may require cadets to work shifts, depending on the work area’s schedule.
Citizenship and Residence: Only applicants from the host communities will be considered. Proof of residence is mandatory, and applications lacking certified copies of qualifications and proof of residence will not be considered.
Medical and Psychometric Requirements: Cadets must either possess a current medical certificate of fitness or be able to obtain one, and pass all required psychometric assessments.
What We Offer:
Stipend: Participants will receive a monthly allowance for the duration of the cadetship.
Training: Comprehensive training and experiential learning opportunities will be provided.
Personal Protective Equipment: All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied to cadets.
