Responsibilities:

As a Forklift Driver at Goldfields Mines, your primary responsibility will be the safe and efficient transport of material cars to and from the shaft in accordance with standard operating procedures. This includes conducting pre-use inspections on equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the supervisor, performing basic maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety, health, and environmental practices.

You will operate the forklift to transport materials safely, assess weight loads, and follow the Surface Traffic Management plan set out by the mine standards. Your role will also involve collaborating effectively within teams, communicating clearly in spoken and written English, and demonstrating problem-solving skills to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Forklift driver license and valid driver’s license.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Forklift operator in a mining environment.
• Medical fitness for the position, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
• Completion of a machine appreciation awareness program (O4R/M4R or equivalent).
