Job Description
As a Multi-Skilled Employee, you will work across various functions in the cinema, ensuring that our guests enjoy a seamless and memorable movie-going experience. Your primary responsibilities will include working as a Cashier at Box Office Sales or Catering Sales, assisting with Collections, or taking on roles such as Cinema Assistant, Waiter, or Poppers. Additionally, you may be assigned other cinema functions by your supervisor as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Interaction:
Engage with guests in a professional and friendly manner, assisting them with ticket purchases, food and beverage orders, or general inquiries. Upsell products and promotions to enhance the guest experience.
Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about Ster-Kinekor’s offerings, including movie schedules, promotional activities, and product details, to provide accurate information to guests.
Presentation Standards:
Ensure the cinema meets high presentation standards by maintaining updated age restriction displays, synopsis files, posters, disclaimers, and product arrangements.
Food & Beverage Preparation:
Prepare popcorn, slush, and other food items according to Ster-Kinekor’s quality standards. Address any deviations to ensure the products meet customer expectations.
Shift Preparation:
Assist in preparing your assigned area before and during shifts, ensuring smooth operations throughout the day.
Product Quality & Integrity:
Monitor and maintain the quality of products offered to guests, ensuring an exceptional movie experience.
Cleanliness & Hygiene:
Maintain cleanliness across all areas, including the kitchen, equipment, counter spaces, and storerooms. Adhere to health and safety (H&S) regulations to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Compliance:
Follow company policies on uniform standards and preparation procedures, ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues.
Reporting:
Submit all required health and safety reports on schedule and ensure proper storage and packaging of prepared products.
Professional Conduct:
Represent Ster-Kinekor with professionalism and uphold the company’s reputation through respectful and ethical behavior at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- 0–1 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with the VISTA system is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities for engaging with guests and colleagues.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Computer literacy.
