Motus Renault Bryanston is seeking a dedicated Apprentice (Automotive Motor Mechanic/Petrol) to join their dynamic team. Position Overview
The successful candidate will actively participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship Programme, assisting with vehicle repairs under the guidance of qualified technicians. The role requires fulfilling MerSETA trade requirements, mastering level tests, and adhering to all safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Development:
Attend scheduled technical and level training courses to build the knowledge necessary for the trade.
Practical Experience:
Assist in repairing vehicles under supervision to gain practical exposure and expertise.
Test Preparation:
Prepare thoroughly for level tests to ensure qualification within the maximum four-year period.
Workplace Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.
Safety Compliance:
Follow workplace safety protocols and conduct rules at all times.
Other Duties:
Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 50% pass per subject is advantageous). - License:
A valid, unendorsed driver’s license is essential. - Clear Record:
Must have a clear criminal record. - Technical Aptitude:
Mechanical insight and technical skills are required; prior experience is an advantage.
Skills and Personal Attributes
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Competency in operating manufacturer diagnostic equipment and accessing technical information.
Ability to physically handle demanding tasks and operate in noisy environments.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and motor vehicle fault-finding skills.
Good eyesight, hand-eye coordination, and mental alertness.
