Minimum Requirements

• Educational Qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) / Grade 9 (Standard 7).
• Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) as a Security Officer – Grade C or higher in accordance with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority Act.
• Experience: Relevant experience as a Security Officer in a psychiatric environment.
• Inherent Job Requirements:
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and rotate between units as required.
• Willingness to perform delegated duties across different areas.
• Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
• Genuine interest in working within psychiatric and forensic units.
• Strong sense of responsibility, independence, and emotional control under pressure.
• Knowledge of managing aggression and violence.
• Good communication, conflict-handling, and group interaction skills.
• Strong writing skills for reporting and incident documentation.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working efficiently under challenging conditions.

Core Functions

• Control access and egress to hospital premises; escort patients on and off the property as required.
• Assist staff in handling aggressive, violent, or uncontrolled patients in psychiatric units.
• Deliver professional security support to ensure the prevention of injuries, abscondments, litigation, and adverse incidents.
• Provide effective and reliable security assistance to the Operational Manager and other staff.
• Monitor and control surveillance camera systems to identify and prevent unlawful entries, suspicious objects, or adverse events.
• Record and report all security incidents, patient movements, and related activities accurately and promptly.
• Promote a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and personnel in line with institutional policies.
