Job Overview

Standard Bank Group is seeking a Senior Payments Administrator to join its operations team on a fixed-term basis. This position is ideal for candidates with solid experience in general banking and payments administration who can work efficiently under pressure while ensuring excellent service delivery.

The successful candidate will handle payments, manage exceptions and queries, and support the Payments Manager by coordinating team workflows and assisting junior staff. This position requires attention to detail, sound decision-making, and adherence to strict compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process and book foreign exchange transactions promptly and accurately, following all company procedures and service-level agreements.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by understanding and addressing client needs across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate any suspicious transactions that may violate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
  • Support the manager in allocating and managing daily workflow to ensure timely and accurate processing of all payment requests.
  • Recommend and assist with process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric / A-levels / Secondary or High School qualification.
  • Experience: 3–4 years’ experience in banking operations, preferably in payments or foreign exchange.
  • Proven track record in handling financial transactions and meeting service-level standards.
  • Strong knowledge of banking systems, reconciliation processes, and operations risk management.

Additional Information

This is a 12-month fixed-term position based in Douglas, Isle of Man.
Relocation or sponsorship is not available, and only Isle of Man residents will be considered.
