A leading manufacturing organisation is offering a structured Apprenticeship Programme for individuals seeking qualifications in Millwright, Auto Electrician, or Fitter & Turner trades. Based at the Technical Training Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, this four-year programme provides hands-on training and theoretical learning to develop skilled artisans for the industry.

Programme Overview

The apprenticeship is a four-year contract position where candidates will receive formal training in one of the following disciplines:

  • Millwright (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Auto Electrician (Automotive Electrical Systems)
  • Fitter & Turner (Precision Machining and Mechanical Assembly)

Upon completion, apprentices will hold a recognised trade qualification. While permanent employment is not guaranteed, high-performing candidates may be considered for available positions based on operational requirements.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Millwright Apprenticeship

  • N3 (Electrical/Mechanical) or Technical Matric with:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade Theory
  • Technical Drawing or Graphical Design
  • Prior workshop experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Auto Electrician Apprenticeship

  • N3 (Auto Electrical Trade Theory) or Technical Matric with:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Auto Electrical Trade Theory
  • Technical Drawing or Graphical Design
  • Workshop experience is beneficial but not required.

Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship

  • N3 (Mechanical Trade Theory) or Technical Matric with:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Mechanical Trade Theory
  • Technical Drawing or Graphical Design
  • Relevant workshop experience is preferred but not essential.
