Job Description
Delivering Excellent Customer Service
- Greet, smile, and acknowledge all customers.
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude when engaging with internal and external customers.
- Ensure that customer needs are met and queries are handled promptly.
Managing Stock Effectively
- Analyze reports thoroughly and carry out accurate stock counts from storage to floor.
- Complete all stock management transactions and confirm End of Day (EOD) procedures.
- Receive stock efficiently within the trading window and ensure accuracy.
- Conduct temperature checks for stock where necessary.
- Manage carry-over stock replenishment and implement price changes when required.
- Monitor and correct Balance on Hand (BOH) figures.
- Enforce store safety and risk processes during EOD to ensure a secure environment.
- Complete the EOD handover checklist for the Early Morning Controller.
Maintaining Shop-Keeping Disciplines
- Enforce food supply chain practices, hygiene standards, and refrigeration cleaning.
- Use Known Gap Reports (KGR) to maintain accurate stock replenishment.
Minimising Shrinkage
- Report dishonest activities linked to shrinkage or fraud.
- Apply shrinkage prevention measures, including red flag processes.
- Ensure that proper security searches are conducted.
- Guarantee that the store is always supervised and never left unattended.
Team and Leadership Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all EOD activities, ensuring delegated tasks are completed.
- Follow up on responsibilities assigned to end-of-day staff.
- Lead by example in areas of punctuality, hygiene, time-keeping, and dress code.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF qualification (preferred).
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Previous supervisory or retail leadership experience will be an advantage.
- Strong stock management or stock control experience.
