Description

MSC is offering unemployed South African youth the opportunity to take part in its structured and highly regarded Learnership Programme within the Maritime Industry. This initiative is aimed at developing the next generation of professionals by combining academic learning with practical workplace experience. The programme is designed to provide participants with skills that are not only valuable within the shipping and logistics sector, but also transferable across a wide range of industries.

The MSC Learnership Programme is divided into three consecutive phases, each running over a 12-month period. These phases are:

  1. National Certificate in International Trade
  2. National Certificate in Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance
  3. Further Education & Training Certificate in Shipping

Learners are required to complete all three phases consecutively at the same MSC location. MSC will fully subsidise the cost of tuition while providing participants with a fixed monthly stipend to cover basic expenses. In addition, learners may qualify for annual bonuses based on their performance, attendance, conduct, and successful completion of assessments. Each learner who completes a phase will obtain a nationally recognised qualification and receive practical, on-the-job training that improves their employability.


Minimum Requirements

  • Completed Matric / Matric Equivalent qualification
  • At least 60% in Mathematical Literacy or 50% in Mathematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must be 25 years of age or younger at the time of application
  • Must be able to travel to and from MSC operating sites at own cost (using stipend provided)
