About Us:

Motus FORD GERMISTON has an opportunity available for a LEVEL 1 APPRENTICE (MOTOR MECHANIC). This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is keen to train and qualify as a Motor Mechanic. We require suitable candidates to participate in all aspects of the Apprenticeship programme; assisting with the repair of vehicles while working under the supervision of a qualified Technician; fulfilling the MerSETA requirements of the trade, mastering level tests and qualifying within a maximum of 4 years.

Responsibilities:

-Assist Technicians in vehicle repairs to gain practical experience under supervision.

-Remove and replace vehicle parts/units.

-Jack up vehicles and set up trestles.

-Perform lubrication and oil changes (under supervision) according to manual specifications.

-Replace wheels and air/oil filters.

-Aid in various vehicle repair tasks.

-Battery removal and replacement.

-Maintain cleanliness in the work area and clean vehicle parts.

-Attend scheduled technical/level training courses to enhance skills.

-Prepare thoroughly for level tests to qualify within the maximum of 4 years.

-Assist with housekeeping; keeping tools and equipment clean and in good order.

-Follow workplace safety and conduct rules and protocols.

-Perform any other reasonable duties required from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:

-Grade 12 with Pure Math and Physical Science.

-Preference for candidates with a Motor Mechanic Trade qualification.

-Valid Driver’s License is advantageous.

-Clear Criminal Record is a must.

Skills and Attributes:

-Technical skills will be beneficial.

-Strong customer orientation and ability to work well in a team.
