Job Description:

The Apprentice L1 at Mercedes-Benz Bedfordview is responsible for performing fault diagnosis to facilitate and expedite vehicle servicing. This includes utilizing diagnostic equipment, adhering to DCSA procedures and policies, accurately diagnosing faults, discussing matters with Service Advisors, and ensuring vehicle care and safety. The role involves attending to breakdown calls, limiting comebacks to a minimum, and returning vehicles to customers in a neat, clean condition. The Apprentice is also expected to sign for parts at the parts department, use them on the relevant vehicle, and return unused parts.

The position requires providing a fault finding and systems diagnostic service on motor vehicles, completing necessary forms and documentation, and participating in training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors.

Position Overview:

The Apprentice L1 reports to the Line Manager and is responsible for repairing Passenger Cars & Vans according to dealer/distributor’s standards and specifications in the most productive way.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

– Provide a technical and diagnostic service within the service department.

– Utilize modern diagnostic equipment effectively in vehicle service and interpret findings.

– Discuss service details with customers as required.

– Accomplish servicing of electric equipment as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Grade 12 – Maths and Physical Science

– N2 – Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Maths, Motor Trade Theory

– Valid Driver’s License
