Anglo American Platinum’s Mogalakwena Mine invites applications for Engineering Exposure Training, giving preference to host communities. The mine, part of the global Anglo American mining business, offers a three-year Artisan Learnership Program for external unemployed candidates (18.2 B1).

Available Disciplines:

• Electrician (x2)
• Measurement Control & Instrumentation Mechanician (x1)
• Millwright (x4)
• Auto Electrician (x1)

Program Highlights:

• 1st year: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.
• 2nd year: On-the-job/core training at Mogalakwena Mine.
• 3rd year: Completion of the trade test.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English (all minimum 40% pass).
• N2 or higher with specific Discipline Requirements.
• NCV Level – 4 in an appropriate trade (all subjects passed with 40% minimum).

Learnership Conditions:

• Willingness to work in open-pit ‘dusty areas.’
• Adherence to work schedules, possibly involving shifts.
• South African Citizenship.
• Successful completion of a psychometric assessment.
• Medical fitness certification or ability to obtain one.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Valid South African Driver’s license advantageous.
