Job Description – Scraper Winch Operator:
As a Scraper Winch Operator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of mining activities at the Amandelbult Complex. You will be responsible for panel cleaning and supporting the effective functioning of the mining operation by ensuring safety and minimizing operational issues.
Your key responsibilities include:
Panel Cleaning & Support: Ensuring the panel is cleaned to the highest standards, helping facilitate future blasting operations.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring high safety standards in the working area to guarantee safe blasting in the subsequent shift.
Mechanical Equipment Operation: Operating all necessary mechanical equipment within the panel, gully, and box hole areas.
Operational Support: Assisting in mining activities, including the measurement of operational performance and identifying any risks or issues.
Problem-Solving: Helping resolve operational challenges within the mining panel and supporting efforts to overcome them.
Logistics Support: Assisting in logistical tasks and ensuring that equipment is maintained and available for use in the stope.
This position falls within the Mining Department at a B2 level, reporting directly to the Mining Team Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: A minimum of Grade 10 in Numeracy and Literacy. A Grade 12 certificate is advantageous.
- Training: Completion of scraper winch training and a basic panel assistance maintenance course.
- Competencies: Mechanical or technical aptitude, with competency in operating the required equipment.
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience as a Scraper Winch Operator is required.
