Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Following all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Reporting unsafe practices or conditions to supervisors promptly.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards on-site to ensure safety.
Operational Duties
- Safely loading, transporting, and unloading goods and equipment without causing damage or injury.
- Conducting thorough pre-shift vehicle inspections to ensure functionality and safety.
- Using appropriate tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently and according to company protocols.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinating with team members and supervisors to secure necessary resources.
- Assisting colleagues as required within the scope of the company’s policies and operational guidelines.
Equipment Maintenance
- Monitoring vehicle and equipment performance regularly and reporting any issues.
- Performing routine inspections and minor maintenance tasks to uphold operational standards.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
Licensing
- A valid South African Driver’s License.
Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with vehicle components, operational standards, and maintenance requirements.
- The ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
Competencies
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English and relevant local languages where applicable.
