Job Description

Sasol, a global integrated chemicals and energy company with over 70 years of excellence, is offering a learnership opportunity for female candidates who aspire to become professional fuel distribution tanker drivers. This programme is designed to empower women in the logistics and transport sector by providing both theoretical and practical training.

The learnership consists of two components:

  1. Theoretical Training – aligned to an NQF Level 3 Learnership.
  2. Practical Experience – on-site workplace exposure, including heavy goods vehicle operations, professional driving skills, and compliance certifications.

Learners will receive support to obtain a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP), Dangerous Goods Certification, and a Code 14 driver’s licence.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12
  • Licence: Code 10 driver’s licence (Code 14 would be an added advantage)
  • Experience: No prior relevant experience required
  • Other: Willingness to undergo full training and workplace readiness activities

Core Functions

  • Participate fully in the Sasol Learnership programme.
  • Successfully complete all assessments and required evaluations.
  • Attend and participate in workplace readiness activities, workshops, and exercises.
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in tanker operations and safe fuel distribution.

Behavioural & Technical Competencies

Behavioural: Nimble learning, managing complexity, self-development, self-awareness, accountability.

Technical: Workflow management, action planning, performance improvement, adherence to policies and procedures, executing and coordinating work effectively.
