Job Overview
The Limpopo Department of Education invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for thirty-three (33) Driver / Messenger positions based at various Special Schools across Limpopo Province.
These posts play a vital role in ensuring the safe, punctual, and reliable transportation of learners attending Special Schools. Successful candidates will be responsible for transporting learners to and from school according to approved routes and schedules, while strictly adhering to traffic laws, departmental transport policies, and learner safety standards.
The Department is seeking disciplined, responsible, and safety-conscious individuals who can communicate effectively with learners, parents, educators, and school management. Experience in learner or bus transport will be an added advantage.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Three (3) years’ bus or learner transport driving experience will be an added advantage
- Willingness to undergo a driver competency test before appointment
- Ability to work responsibly with learners with special needs
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport learners safely to and from school using designated routes
- Assist learners with boarding and off-loading
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Supervise learners during transit to ensure safety and discipline
- Communicate incidents, delays, or emergencies to school management
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws and departmental policies
- Maintain transport logs and operational records
