We are excited to offer Engineering Learnership opportunities at our Amandelbult Complex and Mogalakwena Mine. These programmes are designed to equip you with the skills and qualifications needed to become a qualified Artisan. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience and theoretical training, setting the foundation for a rewarding career in the mining industry.

Amandelbult Complex:

• Fitter (x8)
• Rigger (x4)
• Electrician (x4)
• Diesel Mechanic (x2)
• Boilermaker (x6)

Mogalakwena Mine:

• Electrician (x2)
• Millwright (x4)
• Measurement Control & Instrumentation Mechanician (x1)
• Auto Electrician (x1)
• Fitter (x1)
• Boilermaker/Plater (x1)
• Rigger (x1)
• Earthmoving Mechanic (x2)
• Diesel Mechanic (x2)

Programme Structure:

• Year 1: Institutional training at the Engineering Skills Training Centre (ESTC).
• Year 2: On-the-job/core training at the respective mine.
• Year 3: Complete your trade test and qualify as an Artisan.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% pass), OR
• N2 or higher with subjects relevant to the trade, OR
• NCV Level 4 in an appropriate trade with all subjects passed (minimum 40% pass).

Trade Test Requirements:

• N2 Subjects/Certificate with applicable subjects:
• Mathematics
• Engineering Science
• Relevant Trade Theory
• Industrial Electronics, Engineering Drawings, or Plating Structural Drawings

Learnership Conditions:

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must pass a psychometric assessment and obtain a medical certificate of fitness.
• Must be prepared to work in surface, open-pit, or dusty areas.
• A valid South African driver’s license is advantageous.
