We are excited to offer Engineering Learnership opportunities at our Amandelbult Complex and Mogalakwena Mine. These programmes are designed to equip you with the skills and qualifications needed to become a qualified Artisan. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience and theoretical training, setting the foundation for a rewarding career in the mining industry.
Available Learnerships:
Amandelbult Complex:
- Fitter (x8)
- Rigger (x4)
- Electrician (x4)
- Diesel Mechanic (x2)
- Boilermaker (x6)
Mogalakwena Mine:
- Electrician (x2)
- Millwright (x4)
- Measurement Control & Instrumentation Mechanician (x1)
- Auto Electrician (x1)
- Fitter (x1)
- Boilermaker/Plater (x1)
- Rigger (x1)
- Earthmoving Mechanic (x2)
- Diesel Mechanic (x2)
Programme Structure:
- Year 1: Institutional training at the Engineering Skills Training Centre (ESTC).
- Year 2: On-the-job/core training at the respective mine.
- Year 3: Complete your trade test and qualify as an Artisan.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% pass), OR
- N2 or higher with subjects relevant to the trade, OR
- NCV Level 4 in an appropriate trade with all subjects passed (minimum 40% pass).
Trade Test Requirements:
- N2 Subjects/Certificate with applicable subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics, Engineering Drawings, or Plating Structural Drawings

Learnership Conditions:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must pass a psychometric assessment and obtain a medical certificate of fitness.
- Must be prepared to work in surface, open-pit, or dusty areas.
- A valid South African driver’s license is advantageous.
