Key Responsibilities
As a Cashier/Revenue Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient service delivery within the Department of Transport. Your duties will include:
- Motor Vehicle Licensing Renewals: Processing and managing vehicle licensing renewals to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Cash Handling: Performing daily cash-up duties, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all financial transactions.
- Document Management: Filing and safeguarding all revenue-related documents generated or received.
- NaTIS Operations: Conducting transactions on the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS) and addressing client inquiries related to NaTIS.
- Customer Service: Providing professional and courteous assistance to clients, resolving queries, and maintaining high ethical standards.
- Compliance: Adhering to the National Code of Conduct, Public Service Disciplinary Code, and NaTIS Undertaking (NUU). Successful candidates will be required to sign confidentiality agreements and uphold these standards.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Clean Record: No criminal record.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and demonstrate initiative and innovation in service delivery.
Preferred Attributes
While not mandatory, the following attributes will be advantageous:
- Experience in customer service or cash handling.
- Familiarity with NaTIS or similar systems.
