The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is inviting applications for 143 Contract Worker positions within the Grants Review section across South Africa. These government contract jobs are available to candidates who have completed Grade 12/Matric and are looking to gain experience within the public service sector.
The contracts will remain valid until 31 March 2027. Successful applicants will assist with beneficiary reviews, grant administration processes, document verification, outreach programmes, and data capturing services in various SASSA offices and communities across South Africa.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Successful candidates will support SASSA grant review operations and assist beneficiaries throughout the review process. The role involves administrative support, grant file verification, data capturing, and assisting vulnerable beneficiaries during review campaigns.
The appointed workers will help conduct beneficiary screenings, complete manual grant applications, and validate supporting documents submitted during review processes. They will also assist beneficiaries in locating the correct service cubicles and ensure all information captured is accurate and complete.
Candidates may be required to participate in outreach programmes, including home visits for frail or immobile beneficiaries as well as mobile review operations in rural and underserved communities. Workers will also assist during mass review campaigns held at municipal offices and community halls.
Additional responsibilities include updating grant information on the SOCPEN system, scanning and indexing documents, preparing review reports, maintaining filing systems, and identifying cases requiring further investigation, suspension, or recovery of overpayments.
Successful applicants must maintain confidentiality, comply with data protection procedures, and work closely with registry and review teams to meet operational targets.
