The South African Police Service (SAPS) is calling on young, determined, and patriotic individuals to apply for the Student Programme (Ref No: TRAI2526). Minimum Requirements for SAPS Student Programme 2025
All candidates must meet the following generic requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen, supported by official documentation.
- Be aged between 18 and 35 years at the time of application.
- Have successfully completed Grade 12 (Matric) or possess an equivalent qualification (documentary proof required).
- Be proficient in English and at least one other official language.
- Be willing to undergo a physical and medical examination, and be found to be medically, mentally, and physically fit for service.
- Undergo a psychological integrity assessment and meet the profile of a police officer.
- Submit to background checks, including fingerprint verification and social media screening.
- Be willing to undergo training as prescribed by the SAPS National Commissioner.
- Be prepared to take the oath of office and serve anywhere in South Africa.
- Must not have any visible tattoos while in uniform.
- No previous criminal convictions or pending cases allowed.
- Must not have been previously dismissed for misconduct, dishonesty, violence, sexual harassment, or drug-related issues.
- Be willing to provide a buccal (DNA) sample and undergo full security vetting.
- Applications must be made on the official SAPS application form and accompanied by a sworn declaration of truth.
