General Workers Required – City of Mbombela
Position: 260 x General Workers
The City of Mbombela is seeking 260 General Workers to perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks, including maintenance, cleaning, waste collection, and park upkeep. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, maintaining water and drain pipelines, trenching, excavation, and maintaining electrical components and street lights. General housekeeping duties in workshops, offices, and community facilities are also required. Applicants should have a minimum of Grade 10 (Standard 8) education, relevant experience, and the ability to work independently with good physical health.
Description:
– Perform labor-intensive tasks such as maintenance, cleaning, and waste collection.
– Maintain parks and cemeteries, including grass cutting.
-Load and unload work materials at various sites.
– Maintain water pipelines, drain pipelines, and handle trenching and excavation for pipeline routes.
– Assist with water reticulation, street, and stormwater systems.
– Maintain electrical components and street lights.
– Conduct general housekeeping of workshops, offices, community halls, sports facilities, and library services.
– Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.
Requirements and Competencies:
- Minimum education: Grade 10 (Standard 8) or higher.
- Relevant experience where applicable.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Good physical health and capability to perform manual labor.
Salary:
- Monthly salary range: R11,465.70 – R13,535.50 (Task Grade 03).
