Job Description
Kia South Africa is seeking an Apprentice to provide technical and diagnostic services while ensuring the accurate and timely completion of tasks. The successful candidate will contribute to operational excellence through the execution of predefined objectives, in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
The Apprentice will be responsible for identifying operational problems, applying known solutions, and escalating unresolved issues. Performance targets must be met in accordance with service-level agreements and company standards. The position also involves reporting on activities to provide decision-makers with timely information. Ensuring compliance with governance and preventing financial losses is critical, as is the ability to deliver quality service to both internal and external customers.
The Apprentice will attend training initiatives to improve work quality and develop technical skills, while providing support to an assigned technician. Training and development will be structured according to a logbook and a preplanned training programme.
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Identify and implement solutions for operational problems and escalate issues that remain unresolved.
- Meet performance targets based on established procedures and service-level agreements.
- Report on transactional activities to facilitate informed decision-making in areas of accountability.
- Execute tasks in alignment with compliance and governance processes.
- Perform tasks efficiently to avoid financial losses.
- Ensure that internal and external customers are satisfied with the quality of work provided.
- Participate in training programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist assigned technicians, gaining practical experience and knowledge in the process.
- Follow a structured training programme as outlined in the logbook.
Qualifications and Experience
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) with pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Higher Certificates and/or Advanced National (Vocational) Certificates with NQF Level 4.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
- A valid South African driver’s license.
