Position Overview
Motus Land Rover Bloemfontein is offering an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Apprentice Motor Mechanic. This permanent position involves training to qualify as a Motor Mechanic, with responsibilities including assisting with vehicle repairs, mastering level tests, and fulfilling the MerSETA requirements within two years.
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled technical and level training courses.
- Assist with vehicle repairs to gain practical experience under the supervision of a qualified Technician.
- Prepare thoroughly for level tests to qualify within the maximum period of two years.
- Maintain housekeeping standards; ensure tools, equipment, and the work area are kept clean and in good order.
- Follow workplace safety protocols and conduct rules.
- Perform any additional reasonable duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science, each passed at a minimum mark of 50%.
- License: Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
- Record: Clear criminal record.
- Experience: Must be competent at Apprentice Level 2 Motor Mechanic with mechanical insight and technical skills exposure.
Knowledge and Skills
- Competent operation of manufacturer diagnostic equipment/computer systems.
- Physical fitness for heavy work and noisy environments.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and motor vehicle fault-finding skills.
- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination.
- Sound English communication and writing skills to accurately record findings and work conducted.
- Meticulous, accurate, energetic, and action-oriented.
- Team player with mental alertness.
