South African Police Service Graduate Recruitment Scheme – All Provinces
The South African Police Service invites unemployed graduates meeting the criteria to apply for a twelve (12) month Graduate Recruitment Scheme in all provinces of South Africa. This scheme aligns with the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.
Generic Requirements:
- South African citizenship
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NCV L4)
- No previous criminal convictions or pending cases
- Unemployed, with no prior employment or internship in the relevant field
- Resident of the Province where the post is advertised
- Limit of three (3) applications, each requiring a separate application form.
Intern Categories with Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate Intern: Tertiary Qualification
- Student Intern: Practical experience as required by the Tertiary Institution (attach a letter from the Institution not older than two (2) years).

General information
- Only the official application form from the SAPS website will be accepted for the internship program, and all instructions on the form must be followed to avoid rejection.
- The application form must include the post particulars and reference number.
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV) must be submitted with the application form.
- Uncertified copies of the applicant’s ID document, Senior Certificate, and all post-school educational qualifications must be submitted with a certificate of qualifications; statement of results should be attached.
- Fax or email applications will not be considered.
- Short-listed candidates will undergo fingerprint screening and may be subject to security clearance.
- Applications must be submitted before the closing date of 2024-05-17; late applications will not be accepted.
- Short-listed applicants will undergo a personal interview, and correspondence will be with successful interns only.
- The SAPS is not obligated to fill a post after advertising it.
- A stipend will be paid based on proof of relevant qualifications.
- Recommended candidates will sign a 12-month internship contract, but the Graduate Recruitment Scheme does not guarantee automatic permanent appointment.
