Purpose of Job:

The General Worker R&T performs laboring activities to support logistical requirements, including preparing equipment for loading and unloading products and chemicals, along with general housekeeping activities.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities:

Safety:

• Correct identification and use of PPE.
• Participate in emergency preparedness exercises.
• Perform routine inspections on safety equipment and ensure maintenance where applicable.
• Conduct BAPP observations where applicable.
• Adhere to all safety and work standards.
• Conduct IMS inspections.

Housekeeping

Clean plant areas, benches, floors, PPE, glassware, etc., according to direct instruction and planned routines.

Pack materials in storage areas according to direct instruction and planned routines.

Safely handle, stack, and store chemicals and dangerous materials (where applicable).

Safely handle, store, and transport gas cylinders (where applicable).

Load and offload vehicles.

Ensure the general neatness of the area of responsibility.

Perform tasks under direct supervision and as planned.

General:

• Assist dedicated personnel in performing discipline-specific tasks.
• Perform discipline-specific activities according to instruction.
• Deliver messages and parcels where applicable.
• Work overtime as and when required.
• Safely and correctly use hand tools and equipment.
• Safely handle process chemicals and glassware where applicable.
• Perform ad hoc related tasks at the request of senior personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or N3 with Maths and Science as subjects.
• Code EC1 driver’s license.
• Forklift driver’s license (added advantage).
• 0+ years of relevant experience.
